Ingredients
Scale
- The Essentials:
- 1 large loaf of bread (about 12–16 inches)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (Mozzarella recommended)
- 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt & pepper to taste
Optional Add-Ins:
- Chili flakes or hot sauce
- Bacon bits
- Fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme
- Olive oil drizzle
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with foil.
- Prepare the Bread: Cut a crosshatch pattern into the bread, making diagonal cuts about 1 inch apart without cutting all the way through.
- Make Garlic Butter: Melt the butter in a small bowl. Stir in minced garlic, salt, pepper, and half of the parsley.
- Stuff with Cheese: Generously stuff shredded cheese into the crevices of the bread.
- Add Garlic Butter: Drizzle or brush the garlic butter over the bread, ensuring it soaks into each crevice.
- Wrap and Bake: Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Crisp It Up: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10–12 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with the remaining parsley, serve warm, and enjoy!
Notes
- Use fresh garlic for maximum flavor.
- Wrap the bread tightly in foil to prevent it from drying out.
- Experiment with cheese blends like cheddar or Gruyère for added depth of flavor.
- Serve extra melted butter on the side for dipping!
