A creamy, dreamy homemade Alfredo sauce that’s ready in just 15 minutes with simple ingredients like butter, garlic, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. It’s the perfect versatile sauce for pasta, shrimp, chicken, and more.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Pinch of salt
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter & Sauté Garlic: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add Cream & Simmer: Slowly add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream while whisking. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  3. Incorporate Cheese: Remove from heat and add 1 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper, and whisk until smooth and creamy.
  4. Serve: Toss with your favorite pasta, shrimp, chicken, or veggies, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers for up to 5 days. Reheat on medium heat, adding a little milk, broth, or water to thin it out if needed.
  • Freezing: Not recommended, as Alfredo sauce can become grainy when thawed.
