Ingredients
Scale
For the danishes:
- 1 package of crescent rolls (Pillsbury recommended)
- 4 ounces of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 can cherry pie filling
For the glaze topping:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon milk
Optional (for rolling out dough):
1-2 tablespoons flour for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin pan.
- Unroll the crescent dough into two rectangles. Pinch the seams together to seal.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture (cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla) evenly over the dough.
- Add 1 tablespoon of cherry pie filling to each piece.
- Roll up each rectangle and slice them into 4 pieces. Place the pieces into the greased muffin pan.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- While the danishes bake, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- After baking, allow the danishes to cool slightly before drizzling with the glaze.
Notes
- Storage: Store the danishes in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days. They can also be refrigerated for up to 5 days or frozen for up to a month.
- Reheating: Reheat at 300°F (150°C) for 5-10 minutes.
- Customization: Experiment with different fruit fillings such as blueberry or apple. Add sliced almonds or a streusel topping for extra texture, or include lemon or orange zest in the cream cheese mixture for a citrus twist.
