Description: These Mini Cherry Cheese Danishes are easy-to-make, flaky, buttery pastries filled with creamy cream cheese and topped with sweet cherry pie filling. Perfect for brunch, potlucks, or just a sweet treat.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 16 danishes (from 1 package of crescent rolls) 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the danishes:

  • 1 package of crescent rolls (Pillsbury recommended)
  • 4 ounces of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

For the glaze topping:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Optional (for rolling out dough):

1-2 tablespoons flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin pan.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough into two rectangles. Pinch the seams together to seal.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture (cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla) evenly over the dough.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon of cherry pie filling to each piece.
  5. Roll up each rectangle and slice them into 4 pieces. Place the pieces into the greased muffin pan.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. While the danishes bake, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  8. After baking, allow the danishes to cool slightly before drizzling with the glaze.

Notes

  • Storage: Store the danishes in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days. They can also be refrigerated for up to 5 days or frozen for up to a month.
  • Reheating: Reheat at 300°F (150°C) for 5-10 minutes.
  • Customization: Experiment with different fruit fillings such as blueberry or apple. Add sliced almonds or a streusel topping for extra texture, or include lemon or orange zest in the cream cheese mixture for a citrus twist.
